Worksheet 1: General Properties of Waves

a) Speed of wave pulse = Distance it travelled divided by the time it traveled
Speed of wave pulse = 0.9/1.69
Speed of wave pulse = 90/169m/s

b) It is possible to change the speed of the wave pulse (of the same width). Using the simulator, we observed that it will change the time the pulse wave will need to traveled till the end when we change the amount of tension. The lesser the tension, the more time it will required. A longer time will results in a slower speed.

The wave width has no relation to the speed of wave pulse.
